VCW home game against Potsdam will be postponed – FFH.de

The last home game of VC Wiesbaden in the 2021 calendar year will be postponed. The match against second-placed SC Potsdam, which was scheduled for Friday evening, December 17th, will not take place due to an overlapping schedule, according to the Volleyball Bundesliga. The new date will be announced as soon as the further course of the Potsdam women in the European Cup allows planning.

Game is postponed because of the cup

SC Potsdam reached the semi-finals of the DVV Cup last Sunday. Due to the dates in the European Cup on December 18th, the Brandenburgers have to play against the German champions Dresdner SC. As a result, the Bundesliga match between VC Wiesbaden and Potsdam scheduled for December 17 will be postponed.

Last home game with full ranks?

Thus commit the women of Wiesbaden against the Ladies in Black Aachen on December 4th, 7 p.m, their last home game this calendar year.

Head coach Benedikt Frank’s team is hoping for spectators for the home game. The new state regulations to contain the corona pandemic will not come into force until the following day. Until then, there is theoretically no limit to the seating capacity in the sports hall on Platz der Deutschen Unity.

2G rule and distances

VCW Managing Director Christopher Fetting and his team are taking further precautions to implement parts of the planned measures during the upcoming home game. “In addition to the 2G Plus regulation, we will ask our viewers to keep additional distances to the nearest seats and to wear masks.”

VCW wants to voluntarily occupy fewer places

With the distance regulation, the VCW is voluntarily limiting the capacity in the hall. “Even if we are not happy about this in terms of profitability, we are convinced that a largely full hall would not be a good sign at the moment and would not contribute to containing the pandemic,” Fetting explains the VCW’s decision.
