Deduction of VAT for donations of sanitary equipment. This is what was announced
the Ministry of Economy and Finance, this Thursday. “Companies that donate sanitary equipment (masks,
hydroalcoholic gels, protective clothing and respirators) to health establishments, to social and medico-social establishments which welcome the elderly, disabled or suffering from chronic pathologies, to health professionals or services State and local authorities, will be able to deduct the value added tax (VAT) borne on the occasion of the acquisition or manufacture of these materials, “said a press release.

This provision came into force on April 8, adds the same source. The ministry recalls that in the case of donations or sales at very low prices the VAT is in principle not deductible but that “the exceptional situation justifies, however, extending to sanitary materials the exception which already applies already to donations made for the benefit of associations recognized as being of public utility ”. The formalities for obtaining this deduction will also be simplified, says Bercy.
