Ahmed Hegazy, a professional in the ranks of the Saudi Jeddah Federation, nearly caused a penalty kick against his team during the Jeddah derby confrontation between Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahly.
In the 76th minute, play was stopped after Hijazi interfered against the Al-Ahly Jeddah player in the penalty area, so the referee decided to resort to the video referee to settle the situation.
The decision of the VAR not to count any decision against Ahmed Hegazy came amid objections from Al-Ahly Jeddah players, who demanded a penalty kick against the Egyptian defender.
The Jeddah Federation ended the first half of the Jeddah Derby by advancing two goals without response, both Romarinho scored in minute 8 and Rodriguez in minute 19.
