Vande Bharat train in South India; Prime Minister Flags Off – Vande Bharat Express | Chennai-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express

BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi stopped the Chennai-Mysore Vande Bharat Express on Friday at the Krantiveera Sankolli Rayanna (KSR) railway station in Bengaluru. Vande Bharat is the fifth railway service in the country and the first in South India.

The train service will be operated on the Chennai – Bengaluru – Mysore route. The service is available on days except Wednesday. Stops are allowed at all stations along the route during the first journey for public viewing.

The train departs Chennai at 5:50 am and reaches Bengaluru at 10:20 am and Mysore at 12:20 pm. The train will start its return journey from Mysore at 13:00 and return to Chennai at 19:30. Currently there are only stops in Katpadi and Bengaluru.

Due to the lack of safety fences along the tracks, Vandebharat trains, which are capable of traveling at speeds of 180 km / h, have an average speed of 75–80 km / h on this route.
