Tommie van der Leegte thinks that Noni Madueke should get the chance at PSV this season. The English attacker impresses during the preparation and the former midfielder therefore states that Madueke must also be one of the two Eindhoven attackers in the competition.
PSV coach Roger Schmidt will most likely opt for a system in which there is room for two deep attackers. Besides Donyell Malen, Madueke would also fit in there, says Van der Leegte. “He is fast and can also outplay a man”, the former PSV player told him Broadcasting Brabant. “He brings creativity and explosiveness and PSV needs that.”
The English attacker is currently only 18 years old. “But age doesn’t matter to me”, says Van der Leegte firmly. “He’s really showing this preparation, so I would give him the opportunity to show it in the bigger games too.”
Van der Leegte thinks PSV no longer needs to buy a new left back. Mauro Junior would suffice there, but in the center of the back there is still something needed. “I’m not much of a fan of Baumgartl. Teze does make a good impression on me, but he is only just coming in. PSV still needs a quality injection there.”
