Valncia puts the beaches “ready”

The second day of May 2020 marks one of the great milestones that, in the future, will be remembered, within the return to a normality that society suddenly lost. Now what, just a few weeks ago, was normal becomes an event. Yesterday he should have started a bridge that would have taken hundreds of people out of the city, but those who stayed would have had plenty of plans. Today, however, the news is that you can go running and stroll along the beaches. It is no longer just about taking children out of the air for them. Now anyone can, even if it is within certain time bands. The definitive opening of the maritime façade is therefore a celebration.
You can run and you can walk along the beach, but it is not a bathing season. Although it is like a mirror, there will be a red flag. It is completely prohibited. The same as taking out a sun lounger and, not much less, generating gatherings of friends around chairs and fridges.

Although the pandemic has occurred in the low season, nature has not been quiet. For this reason, the city council has made a deep cleaning of the sands. A device that, authorized by the Demarcation of Coasts, has cost the municipal coffers 39,500 euros.
The cleaning and collection of algae from the beaches in the north and south of Valencia have been carried out throughout this week. The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Urban Ecology, Sergi Campillo, stressed that in the case of the southern beaches, it has coordinated with the Devesa-Albufera service to make it compatible with protecting the environment.

Around 2,050 tons of algae have been collected that had accumulated during the last rainy storms. Now they have been transferred to a temporary deposit in the old facilities of the El Saler Sports Center. “The system is very sustainable because in winter they are used to restore dunes or the coastal strip itself.”

Ecological litter bins have also begun to be installed on the beaches to facilitate waste collection and recycling for visitors.
