Valid results from CPU-Z show a 50% increase in performance between 12600K and 11600K

Server VideoCardz points to the new validated test results built into the CPU-Z utility, or tests, as the processor The Core i5-12600K has already been tested at least three times on different reports, indicating that testing may have already begun in future reviews. –

It is a CPU with six strong Golden Cove cores at 3.6 to 4.9 GHz and four weaker Gracemont at 2.8 to 3.7 GHz. It is the weaker cores that the 12600K should offer as the only Core i5 model from the Alder Lake-S generation, and thanks to them, you can expect interesting multi-threaded performance.

However, someone might prefer to reach for the Core i5-12400, which will come on the market later, and it should be an even cheaper offer for a system with six physical cores.

The Core i5-12600k actually reached a clock speed of up to 4.9 GHz, in one test performed on the latest version of CPU-Z (1.98), all tests were performed on different memories from the manufacturer’s point of view, but in all cases it was DDR5 -4800.

The results then range between 760 and 773 points (1 thread) and 7156 and 7220 points (all threads), so no current x86 processor has single-threaded performance on this processor, as they all end up below 700 points. In the case of the total load, it is of course different, but it can be said that about 7200 points rank Core i5-12600K slightly above Ryzen 7 5800X and above Core i9-11900K (both about 6500 – 6600 points) and in terms of comparison with Ryzen 5 5600X and Core i5-11600K, compared to half of the performance.

Now all that remains is to resolve the issues of price, availability, the impact of DDR4 memory vs. DDR5 for performance and of course we will wait for more detailed tests, but it looks like Rocket Lake-S will become unsaleable at today’s prices (unless Alder Lake-S is disproportionately overpriced) and AMD might be forced to get cheaper. Of course, this will only become clear, because there are still plenty of unknown variables, including the real prices of new boards.
