VALENTINO RE-SIGNIFY Reinterpretation (Shanghai Station)

VALENTINO

The first stop of VALENTINO’s “Reinterpretation” is Shanghai. It is a non-traditional exhibition, not a fashion show. It is a beautiful immersive journey full of interactive experience.

Valentino creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli “reinterprets” the classic Valentino logo, giving it a new tension. During the journey, dreams meet reality, HIGH and LOW styles blend, punk and formal wear are comparable, high-level customization and street culture are radiant.

The so-called “re-interpretation” is a pragmatic and enterprising process, a process of breaking down barriers. Pierpaolo Piccioli uses this to define the present and future of the Valentino brand and build a bridge between the past, the present and the imaginary future.

“Reinterpretation” is not only a style of behavior, but also a paradigm of thinking. It is not a theory, and it does not require written writing to verify it.

Before breaking through, we need a keen eye to explore new possibilities in reality. “Re-interpretation” is not a process of correction, nor a new interpretation of existing things. This is a clear and conscious gesture; a forward-looking and creative action; a way to abandon tradition and evoke new thinking.

The first stop of VALENTINO’s “Reinterpretation” Shanghai is curated by Mariuccia Casadio and Jacopo Bedussi, and set by Kennedy London. It will be held from December 19, 2020 to January 17, 2021 at the Power Station of Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art. The Arts (PSA) kicked off.

The Shanghai Museum of Contemporary Art (PSA) opened on October 1, 2012. It is China’s first public contemporary art museum and mainly exhibits Chinese contemporary art. The Shanghai Power Station of Art is also the main venue of the Shanghai Biennale, and it was also the City Future Pavilion of the 2010 Shanghai World Expo.
