Mario Balotelli will play in Monza, the Serie B team owned by Silvio Berlusconi

The Monza, a Serie B football team owned by Silvio Berlusconi, has signed Mario Balotelli, a 30-year-old Italian forward with a past in Inter, Milan, Manchester City and the national team, who was temporarily without a contract but who had last season played in Brescia.

Balotelli has signed a contract until 30 June 2021: “Then if we are both happy we will go on” said Adriano Galliani, the managing director of Monza. Galliani had already bought Balotelli in 2013, when he was CEO of Milan, of which Berlusconi himself was president, paying him 20 million euros to Manchester City. According to Corriere della Sera Balotelli will earn 400 thousand euros until the end of the season, to which contractual bonuses should be added in the event of Monza being promoted to Serie A (at the moment Monza is eighth and has 14 points, 9 less than Salernitana first in the standings).
