València will open more sports facilities

The Councilor for Sports, Pilar Bernabé, has announced that starting this Monday, June 1, due to the entry of Valencia in phase II of the Plan for De-climbing, it will proceed to reopen new sports facilities, including the first municipal swimming pools covered. Likewise, another novelty that phase II entails is the authorization that will allow the practice of a greater range of activities, including team sports, which can be carried out through individualized training.

Pilar Bernabé has highlighted one of the most important novelties, which is “the opening of the first indoor sports facilities along with other outdoor facilities, such as soccer or rugby fields, which did not have permission to resume their activities during phase I ”.

Bernabé stressed that in Valencia “we are going to carry out a progressive de-escalation of sports facilities in order to guarantee that all of them comply with all the guarantees and regulations required by the protocols of the Ministry of Health”. In this line, the councilor has indicated that “from the Municipal Sports Foundation we will be informing the public about the application of protocols in the facilities and the instructions issued by the health authorities.

These measures emphasize the limitation of the capacity of the facilities, the social distance to be met, the frequency of cleaning and disinfection tasks, among others, whose purpose is to offer the maximum guarantees for a safe practice of activities. In this sense, Bernabé pointed out, “over the next week, the Nazareth Sports Center will be reopened, which will include the indoor pool, the soccer field, the sports hall and the tennis courts and archery ”. For its part, it is also planned that “next week we will open the covered pavilion, together with the tennis and paddle tennis courts, of the Benimaclet Sports Center”. In addition, Bernabé continued, “another opening that is contemplated is that of the San Luis Pavilion, which includes the sports court, the artistic gymnastics room for both men and women, and the table tennis room.”

On the other hand, the reopening of the Cabanyal-Canyamelar Pavilion is planned. After the refurbishment of the sports facility, the sports hall, the artistic gymnastics courts and the fencing hall will be opened to the public. Lastly, “other facilities whose opening is contemplated by the Municipal Sports Foundation, in addition to those that were already carried out during phase I, are the Petxina Sports-Cultural Complex, the Pilota Valenciana Center and various soccer and rugby fields in the city ”, concluded Pilar Bernabé.
