Vaccines must also be quarantined. But time will get shorter

The government has decided to reduce isolation and quarantine due to coronavirus to five days. They currently last two weeks, and quarantine can be completed after a week with a negative test. However, the vaccinated will also have to be quarantined.

“From next Tuesday, quarantine and isolation will be reduced to five full calendar days. The time will be the same for everyone without exception, “said Minister of Health Vlastimil Válek. The same rules will apply to vaccinated, unvaccinated and people with the disease.

“As far as the end of quarantine is concerned, it is now taking place without a confirmatory test after five days. With the fact that, of course, the employee who returns to work is still in testing mode and there is no exception for him. This means that he will then be tested at the workplace, “explained Deputy Minister of Health Josef Pavlovic.

Vaccinated and people will have to enter the quarantine after a risky contact with a positive coronavirus tester and people within six months of undergoing covid. Vaccines have not yet had to undergo a test or undergo mandatory quarantine after the risk contact, and suffering from the disease has left people out of these conditions for six months.

At the end of November, the chief hygienist adjusted the methodological instruction so that people who live with the infected person in the same household must have a PCR test, but they do not have to quarantine or receive the result.

With the omicron variant, the symptoms start faster, so people should be infectious for a shorter time. Concerns that the more contagious omicron will put a large number of people out of work at once, some European countries have already shortened the period of isolation.

Two or three weeks?

As of January 17, the government is introducing mandatory testing. It will apply to all employees without exception, including those who have been vaccinated. Everyone should take the covid-19 test twice a week.

“Everyone will be tested with antigenic self-testing kits. Testing takes place twice a week or once every three to five days. If the antigen test is positive, the worker is quarantined for five calendar days, “said Health Minister Vlastimil Válek.

Testing will take two or three weeks. “It simply came to our notice then. For the simple reason that we will monitor how the omicron variant will develop and what its onset will be. We expect this measure to be valid for a maximum of three weeks, “added Válek.

The tests will be covered by public health insurance, ie the reserve fund. According to the War, employees who refuse to be tested will be reported to the hygiene. At the same time, they will have to take measures to protect other employees from infection. For example, they will have to wear respirators.

Today, the government also discussed a draft amendment to the Act on State Social Support and also a legislative regulation that will freeze the salaries of constitutional officials this year.

Laboratories in the Czech Republic on Tuesday detected more than ten thousand cases of coronavirus. For the first time in two weeks, more than ten thousand people were infected. Last Tuesday, the increase was about a thousand cases lower. There are 2,854 patients with covid in hospitals, 506 of whom are in severe condition.
