From Friday morning the telephones at the switchboard of the Lazzaro Spallanzani National Institute for Infectious Diseases have been ringing non-stop. Operators invite the public to book by e-mail at [email protected].
The institute will be responsible for contacting the interested parties. In fact, we are looking for healthy volunteers, “of both sexes and aged between 18 and 55, or between 65 and 85, enrolled in the national health service”. To participate in the trial, it is essential “not to have participated in other clinical studies in the last year” and not to have contracted the covid.
The commitment consists in undergoing a first visit for the evaluation of the health status and, in case of eligibility, “a further eight visits over the next seven months.” The duration of each visit is approximately 30 minutes, and the on the day of the vaccination it will be necessary to remain under observation for four hours at the Spallanzani.
“For the commitment – specify to the Institute of Infectious Diseases – there is an allowance adequate to the current legislation”. The answers to the most frequently asked questions will soon be published on the Institute’s website for the benefit of those who aspire to participate in the experimentation.
