Vaccination rates against Covid-19 are increasing and 12,073 people have been vaccinated on the first day of the week after the holiday, according to information compiled by the National Health Service (NSS).


During the Midsummer and Midsummer week from June 21 to June 27, the vaccination rate had significantly decreased, because the two-day vaccination centers against Covid-19, as well as the supermarket vaccination points did not work, so on average 28,873 people were vaccinated with 4,125 vaccines per day, which is 63% less than a week earlier.

On Monday, according to current NSS data, 12,073 people received the Covid-19 vaccine in Latvia, including 1,269 people who received the first dose of the vaccine, 9,919 people received the second dose, and 885 people received the vaccine produced by Johnson & Johnson (J&J) subsidiary, which requires only one dose.

However, these data are subject to change, as many vaccination authorities enter data on vaccinated systems with a delay of several days.

Vaccination has been performed by 262 service providers, most of them by the “Association of Health Centers” – 1940 people, “Health Center 4” – 1892, “Visual Diagnostics” – 576, “Railway Health Center” – 521, Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital – 427, North Kurzeme Regional Hospital – 403, Luc Medical – 392, Riga East Clinical University Hospital – 374, Rezekne Hospital – 292 and Children’s Clinical University Hospital – 292 people.

Of the persons vaccinated on Monday, 5,510 are included in the category “other population” or persons who do not correspond to any of the priority groups, 3,090 – voluntarily, 1,796 – persons over 60, 764 – persons with chronic diseases, 249 – doctors, 224 – persons other high-risk groups, 72 – employees of educational institutions, 63 – employees of sectoral priority institutions, 59 – persons with other health indications, 38 – employees of operational services, 28 – employees of medical institutions, 23 – persons who have contact with persons with chronic diseases , 22 – employees of social care centers, 20 – clients of social centers and four pregnant women.

Yesterday, 1172 first doses of Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine and 5781 second dose of this vaccine, 97 first doses of Moderna vaccine and 1477 second doses of this vaccine, 2661 second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine and 885 doses of J&J vaccine were tested in Latvia. , according to NSS data.

Thus, so far 593,627 people have received only the first of two doses of Covid-19 vaccine in Latvia, but 521,588 people have completed the vaccination process.

A total of 1,115,215 injections of Covid-19 were administered in the country.

People who have received both doses of a vaccine manufactured by AstraZeneca, Pfizer / BioNTech or Moderna, or a Johnson & Johnson subsidiary vaccine that requires only one dose, are considered to have completed the vaccination process. Immunity to the Covid-19 virus occurs at different times after receiving different vaccines.

According to the data of the Central Statistical Bureau, at the beginning of April 2021, there were provisionally 1,887,600 inhabitants in Latvia, so 31.45% of the population had received the first pot against Covid-19, but both – 27.63%.

LETA has already reported that on December 28 last year, vaccination of employees of large hospitals was the first in Latvia to be vaccinated against Covid-19, but later other groups of persons to be vaccinated as a priority were gradually opened. On April 3 of this year, specially established large-scale vaccination centers opened their doors, as for the first time a larger amount of vaccines had become available to Latvia.
