Vaccination points against covid-19 enabled until January 27 in Quito

Three points for vaccination in order to reduce the epidemiological risk of covid-19 e influenza are enabled in Quito until Friday, January 27, 2023, reported the Municipal Health Secretary.

In it northern sectorthe vaccination point enabled is in the Labrador Metro Station; in the south, in the Quito El Recreo Metro Station y Quitumb Metro Stationand. Hours of operation range from 08:00 to 12:30. In these places the entire pending population will be vaccinated, from the age of three.

According to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) on the second booster doseor, will be administered four months after inoculation of the first booster over 50 years and over 12 years with moderate or severe immunosuppression.

Los children between 3 to 11 years old with moderate or severe immunosuppression may receive their first booster 28 days after their second dose with Sinovac.

Too health personnel and workerswhich includes administrators who work in health institutions; over 18 years vaccinated abroad with Janssen vaccine (Johnson & Johnson) who received their first booster dose five months ago.

Travellers

They may be vaccinated only travelers whose country of destination requires the inoculation of two doses for entry of vaccines authorized for that country (AstraZeneca, Sinovac). For them, the second booster will be inoculated 28 days after the first booster is applied.

The second booster dose will receive it population whose age ranges between 18 and 49 years and that they have completed five months since the application of the first reinforcement against covid.

Influenza

In addition to the covid vaccine, the seasonal flu vaccine to prevent mortality and serious morbidity derived from this disease in the population at risk.

According to the guidelines issued by the MSP, the target population for vaccination against seasonal influenza is the following: boys and girls from 6 months to 3 years with 11 months 29 days of age (population from 6 to 11 months receives two doses); health personnel; pregnant people (in any trimester of pregnancy); puerperium women (if you did not receive the vaccine during pregnancy).

Also, people between the ages of 4 and 64 who have risk factors such as: congenital or acquired immunodeficiencies, chronic non-communicable diseases, metabolic disorders, liver, kidney, neurological diseases.

Too people older than 65 years, People with disabilities, persons deprived of liberty, caregivers of people with disabilities, child care center staff; and personnel in close management of hospital waste.

The Municipality calls on the community to complete your vaccination schedule and keep the biosecurity standards such as the use of a mask, in order to avoid and reduce the spread of the virus.
