If the vaccination of minors at least 12 years old has already started in certain regions such as Hauts-de-France, it is now extended to the whole of France, including Bourgogne-Franche-Comté.

You need the agreement of both parents
For a teenager to be vaccinated, both parents have to agree. The voluntary minor must therefore present a parental authorization signed by his two legal representatives. They must also be present the day their child receives their dose against the virus. If one of them is absent, the other must swear on their honor that the second parent agrees.

Avoid the circulation of the virus while social life resumes
12-17 year olds can only receive doses of Pfizer vaccine. The challenge of vaccinating the youngest is to prevent the transmission of the virus while gatherings and parties resume. “Young people do not develop serious forms of the virus, on the other hand it circulates within this population”, draws up Emmanuel Debost, general practitioner in Plombières-lès-Dijon.
Young people need a social life because they have been confined. With this social life, there is a very important risk of the virus spreading. This age group should be vaccinated.
Several vaccination slots are available in the region:
- 6,000 in Saône-et-Loire and in the Jura
- 3,500 in Haute-Saône
- 4,900 in Côte-d’Or
- 2,200 in the Yonne
- 1,000 in the Nièvre
- 7,800 in the Territoire de Belfort
- 10,000 in the Doubs
The Regional Health Agency specifies that the second dose of vaccine may be postponed to allow adolescents to go on vacation this summer.
What is the health situation in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté?
For now, 45% of the population has received at least one dose of vaccines in France, or 30 million people according to Public Health France. In Burgundy-Franche-Comté, the share of vaccinated inhabitants rises to 46.20%. 1.2 million residents have received at least one dose of vaccine in the region.
