Utah Man Wanted for Threats Against President Biden and Manhattan DA Fatally Shot by FBI Agents

UTAH — A Utah man wanted for threats of violence against President Joe Biden and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was fatally shot by FBI agents Wednesday morning, the agency confirmed to NBC News.

Special agents were attempting to serve arrest and search warrants at a home in Provo when Craig Deleeuw Robertson was shot and killed, according to court documents.

Robertson allegedly threatened Biden on social media ahead of the president’s visit to the state on Wednesday.

In March, Robertson also threatened Bragg, saying he would go to New York and described in detail how he wanted to stalk and kill Bragg in a parking lot.

Bragg is overseeing the criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump’s plan to bury allegations of extramarital affairs that surfaced during his first campaign for the White House. Trump pleaded not guilty in that 34-felony case of falsifying internal business records at his private company over a hush money payment to porn actor Stormy Daniels.

FBI agents who were guarding Robertson’s home on March 19 approached him about his posts, according to the complaint. Robertson replied, “I said it was a dream” and told them to come back with a warrant.

Robertson is also accused of threatening other politicians, but it was not immediately clear who else he threatened.

No FBI agents were injured, an agency spokesperson said.
