Pontang Police Chief AKP Sudibyo Wardoyo confirmed the incident.
At that time, Ustaz Asmala and a number of people wanted to slaughter the sacrificial animals.
But in the middle of the process of slaughtering cattle, Ustaz Asmala suddenly fainted.
His condition at that time still brought machetes to slaughter sacrificial animals.
“Indeed, every year he always slaughtered sacrificial animals. Religious figures here (Pontang). But, this morning, the victim suddenly fell right again slaughtering cows,” said Sudibyo when confirmed Kompas.com.
Residents did not expect Asmala died while slaughtering sacrificial animals, because Asmala’s condition was considered healthy.
But indeed Asmala has a history of heart disease.
Asmala’s son, Payubi (30), had tried to give an artificial breath to his father.
Asmala was immediately rushed to the nearest health center.
“At the location he was also given an artificial breath with his child. When he was taken to the puskesmas, he was declared dead,” Sudibyo said.
The family also confirmed that Asmala experienced swelling in the heart.
“The family refused to have an autopsy, until last Friday they were buried,” he said.
