Use of gas towards MP Barbara Nowacka. The deputy comments

It is not that aggressive behavior towards female citizens will get away with it. And I am also talking about supervisors, that is, about Mr. Kaczyński, Mr. Kamiński – said MP Barbara Nowacka on Sunday in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. She commented on the situation from Saturday’s protest in Warsaw when tear gas was used against her despite showing her MP.

On Saturday, during the celebration of the 102nd anniversary of Polish women obtaining electoral rights, demonstrations of “Women’s Strike” were organized throughout the country. The largest demonstration took place in Warsaw. During the blockade of the Łazienkowska Route, MP Barbara Nowacka was treated with tear gas by one of the officers after showing the policemen a parliamentary ID card.

– It was not a pleasant experience – Barbara Nowacka said on TVN24 “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24. She expressed the hope that other people who were injured during the demonstration were doing well.

She described the event as follows: – I’m standing with a MP’s ID and I get pepper spray in my face from a very close distance. I get in the eyes, in the ear, and the people standing next to me also get hit.

“Systemic intimidation of citizens is ongoing”

Barbara Nowacka stated that “it can be said that the only reason we are talking about it today is that I am a member of the Sejm”. – Such things have happened at the protests since November 11 very often. Systemic intimidation of citizens continues, and the police then, after all these incidents, tell nonsense and untruths – said Nowacka.

– We’ll settle them. It is not that aggressive behavior towards female citizens will get away with it. And I am talking here about the supervisors, i.e. Mr. (Deputy Prime Minister Jarosław) Kaczyński, Mr. (Minister Mariusz) Kamiński, but also the capital commander (police) who is responsible for this action, and the policemen who are either poorly trained or often fail to advise in such situations – she announced.

She assessed that “what the police did yesterday leaves a lot to be desired”. – But we know who gave such orders, who gave the orders to “escalate the protests”. And this is Mr. Kaczyński – noted the deputy.
