USA-The moral of mnages s’amliore-Michigan

WASHINGTON, Oct. 14 (Reuters) – U.S. household morale has improved more-than-expected since early October, according to preliminary results from the University of Michigan’s monthly poll shown on Friday.

Its confidence index rose to 59.8 from 58.6 in September, while economists and analysts interviewed by Reuters had expected an average figure of 59.0.

The component of consumers’ judgment on their current situation also grew more than expected, 65.3 against 59.7 in the previous month and 59.9 in the Refinitiv consensus.

On the other hand, that of the outlook fell, 56.2 against 58.0. The consensus gave a slight improvement to 58.5. (Written by Laetitia Volga, said by Sophie Louet)
