The ceremony of signing the agreement on the normalization of economic relations with the participation of Serbian President Aleksandar Vuczić and Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti took place in the Oval Office on Friday. – It is a truly historic day, a great day for this beautiful part of the world. After a tragic history and failed negotiations, my government proposed a new way to overcome divisions, said US President Donald Trump. The President of Serbia thanked President Trump for his efforts to restore stability and peace in the region. The Prime Minister of Kosovo described the signing of the document as an important event for both countries. During the ceremony, President Trump announced that Serbia had pledged to move its Israeli embassy to Jerusalem, and Kosovo and Israel had agreed to establish diplomatic relations.
“It’s fantastic, it’s a big thing, it’s a big step, I appreciate it very much,” said Trump. Many comments were raised by Vuczic’s behavior during the speech of the US president. As Trump talked about moving the diplomatic mission to Jerusalem, the Serbian president looked through the document again, then put his hand to his forehead. According to some commentators, his behavior may suggest that he did not know about this provision of the agreement.

Reports about the lack of knowledge of the Serbian president regarding the provision on the transfer of the diplomatic mission also seem to be contradicted by the article, which appeared on the Balkan Insight portal in March this year. It says that the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade says it is pleased to hear that Serbia is planning to open a diplomatic mission in Jerusalem.
