71-year-old Shirlene Hernandez from San Antonio, Texas, took her daily drive to the gas station on Tuesday morning to buy a soda.
On the way into the store, a man grabbed the 71-year-old’s arm and hit her repeatedly in the face. He then robbed the elderly woman’s car keys.
Man died in car wash
Although three men flocked to help her, the assailant managed to get away with Hernandez’s car, writes the local news website WBRC.
Crashed and died
Shortly afterwards, the police found the car completely wrecked along the highway. The car thief had died in the collision.
– There are many who want to say that you harvest as you sow. It’s karma. Still, I was very sad to hear that he had died. But having said that, he hurt me – and the lord found it necessary to take his life, the woman says to the news website.
Macabre find in bloody duffel bag
Hernandez still has clear marks after the attack, but is in relatively good shape.
Her biggest problem now is that she is without a car.
Fundraising
The 71-year-old’s grandson therefore created a krone roll for the grandmother, so that she can buy herself a new means of transportation:
«Hi, my name is Helen and I’m helping my 71 year old grandmother Shirlene. On April 12, she was robbed of her car at a Shell station in San Antonio on her way to work.
– No one deserves to die like this
The man who took the car hit her and injured her face. The man later wrecked the car, and she now has no opportunity to get to and from work and appointments.»
At the time of writing, more than 245,000 Norwegian kroner has been collected.
