The American authorities, according to AP, are planning to evacuate the country’s embassy from Kiev. Sources say the State Department may announce this in the coming hours. The department itself does not comment on this information. Interlocutors of the agency say that some of the diplomats can be transferred to the west of Ukraine, not far from the border with Poland, so that the United States can maintain a diplomatic presence in the country. Earlier, Washington ordered the families of employees of the US Embassy in Kiev to leave the country. A few hours ago, US national security adviser Jake Sullivan urged all American citizens in Ukraine to leave the country as soon as possible. He did not rule out that Russia could launch an invasion of Ukraine before February 20, the end date for the Beijing Olympics.
