If in France, it is SELL which communicates to us the classification of the best sales of games, in the United States, it is the NPD Group which is responsible for bringing the news. This American company has published a top every month for the past ten years, the opportunity to draw an interesting assessment.
It was on Twitter that Mat Piscatella, an analyst at NPD Group, published a top 5 of the games that appeared most often in the monthly rankings of his company. Unsurprisingly, we thus find Grand Theft Auto V in first position with 74 appearances, followed by Minecraft which climbs to 73. Next come two Nintendo titles, Mario Kart 8 (Switch version included) and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, separated by Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. Note that this is data only related to the American market.
We still have 1 month to go in the ’10s, but here are the titles with the most appearances on The NPD Group’s US top 20 best-selling Video Games chart in the decade:
74 – GTAV
73 – Minecraft
37 – Mario Kart 8
34 – TCR6: S
30 – TLoZ: BoTW
