US retail chain lists new AirPods, iPads, Apple TV and iPod touch ›ifun.de

Apple could shortly launch a new AirPods model as well as revised versions of the iPad, Apple TV and iPod touch. Placeholders for corresponding products have appeared in the computer system of the American retail chain Target.

With regard to the price of $ 399, the product deposited under the name “Apple Airpods (X Generation)” could be Apple’s over-ear headphones that have long been haunted by the rumor mill. Such a product has always been questioned in view of the dominance of Apple’s Beats brand in this area, but another classic AirPods model, especially in this price range, seems unlikely.

The iPod touch, which is listed as a new model, is also coming unexpectedly. The current seventh generation of the media player is not yet a year old, Apple only launched the device in May last year.

The new Apple TV model also listed by Target for $ 179 is not surprising. An update for the set-top box has long been due, the version “Apple TV 4K”, which is currently still sold as the current model, was presented in September 2017. The price for the box seems to remain unchanged. Apple also seems to have a new version of the iPad Air with a 10.5-inch screen last updated in March 2019.

Several American websites report on the placeholders in Target’s POS system. Employees of the retail chain are also quoted as saying that this is common for new products and that although the names do not necessarily correspond to the actual product names, this is a clear indication of upcoming Apple innovations.

Currently is expectedthat Apple introduced a new, cheaper iPhone model as the successor to the iPhone SE at the end of March and that the device will be available in early April. The above-mentioned products could be brought directly to the market earlier and, as was also the case last year, without special announcement.
