In just three weeks, longtime American talk show host Larry King lost two of his children. “Both were good souls,” the 86-year-old wrote on his Facebook page at the weekend, “we will miss them very much.” His son Andy died of a heart attack on July 28, and his daughter Chaia died of lung cancer on August 20, it said.

The death of the two felt completely wrong, wrote King. “No parent should have to bury a child.” He confirmed the loss of Andy and Chaia with “sadness and a broken father’s heart” and thanks for numerous expressions of condolences. According to CNN, they lived to be 65 and 52 years old.

King was best known for his show “Larry King Live,” which ran from 1985 to 2010 on CNN. On the show, he interviewed Hollywood stars, top managers and top politicians, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and former US President George W. Bush. According to CNN, the award-winning journalist has four other children from previous marriages.
