Authorities have previously explained that Rivera drowned in an accident after lifting her son back on the boat. According to the report, Rivera was good at swimming.

The man who rented the pontoon boat to Rivera states that she refused a life jacket, but that he placed one in the boat anyway.

The autopsy report also describes that Rivera had previously had problems with dizziness, and that she had recently had a sinus infection. She also had small amounts of prescription drugs in her blood. But none of this should have been decisive factors in the death, writes AP.

There are several currents in the sea, especially in the afternoon and the authorities believe that the actor disappeared in the middle of the afternoon. They think she had enough strength to save her son on board the boat, but not herself.

Rivera’s son, who she has with her ex-husband and actor Ryan Dorsey, was found sleeping alone on board the boat later in the afternoon. Five days later, the body of Rivera was found in the lake.

Three dead

The Ventura County sheriff has previously told the media that she was probably stuck in the thick vegetation underwater in the lake for several days.

Rivera was the third of the main characters in the popular TV series “Glee”, who has lost his life. Rivera was found dead exactly seven years after co-star Cory Monteith died at the age of 31 from a deadly combination of alcohol and heroin.

Another co-actor, Mark Sallinger, took his own life in 2018, 35 years old, after pleading guilty to possession of images of abuse of minors.
