A Minnesota woman shot her son nine times because the 6-year-old wouldn’t sleep. After an argument, she forced the child into the car, where she killed him in cold blood. The police found the body of the little one in the trunk.
Julissa Thaler, 28, was found guilty by a US court on Wednesday after she killed her child in cold blood in 2022. The two argued because the boy did not want to go to sleep, at which point the mother became aggressive. He took the little one, but also a rifle and they left the house.
They got into the car, where they allegedly shot the little one nine times, then threw him in the trunk. The woman was stopped by police minutes later after a witness alerted authorities saying someone was driving a car with a broken window and a flat tire.
The police found the body of the little boy in the trunk of the car. Authorities found the boy’s backpack containing worksheets and kindergarten homework with “Eli” written in the upper right corner in the trash along her route; a car seat covered in blood with a large bullet hole; clothing and human remains.
DNA tests also showed his blood was on her clothes and skin.

Thaler lost custody of Eli in January 2021 after the Dakota County Department of Social Services learned she was “experiencing psychosis and hearing voices telling her to kill herself.”
However, the child was again entrusted to her, just two weeks before the murder.
US magistrates say the young woman will face life in prison without parole. He will find out the verdict on February 16.
