US Health Experts: Patients Cured of COVID-19 Can Be Immune for Up to 1 Year

Quoted from VOA Indonesia, Tuesday (18/8/2020), former official of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Dr. Scott Gottleib, speaking on the TV station CBS stated, patients who recover can be assured of resistance for a minimum of three months.

The findings come from the Centers for Prevention and Disease Control (CDC). It is possible that immunity lasts up to a year.

“But the chances are that you will have an immunity period of between six and 12 months. It will vary widely. Some people have lower immunity, most are more,” said Gottleib.

“The good news is that they can document that people will have immunity. They will not be infected again after being cured for at least three months and it could be much longer than that,” he added.

Scott Gottlieb warns that COVID-19 it is called the new Corona Virus because many doctors do not know about the virus.

The number of deaths due to the Corona Virus in the US is approaching 170 thousand. Experts at the University of Washington’s Institute of Health Metrics predict that the figure will hit 186,000 on September 1 and more than 390,000 by December 1.
