WashingtonPrinceton University of the United States wants to remove former President Woodrow Wilson’s name from his Department of Political Science. Wilson was due to his “racist politics and racist attitudes” an “inappropriate” namesake for an institute whose teachers, students and alumni should be determined to fight racism, the AFP said on Saturday.
Wilson headed the United States from 1913 to 1921. On his initiative the foundation of the League of Nations, the predecessor of the United Nations, goes back, abroad he also stands for the end of isolationism of the USA.
Domestically, he supported segregation in the southern states and allowed the ministries in Washington to separate black and white employees.
