The United Nations distributed eight tons of supplies from its collection center in Panama to fight the covid-19 pandemic in Latin American and Caribbean countries, one of its agencies reported on Tuesday.

Aid consists of materials for health workers such as masks, gloves, gowns, goggles, and disinfectants. Multipurpose stores have also been dispatched, AFP reported.

The countries to which aid was sent were: Dominican Republic, Peru, Barbados, Ecuador, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Haiti, Paraguay, Bahamas, Belize, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, El Salvador, Guyana, Jamaica, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay and Venezuela.
