US and South Korea Secretly Hold War Exercises, No Name and No Announcement

SEOUL – United States of America (US) and South Korea (South Korea) have started the latest war games without public announcement or naming of the drills. The exercise was held as tensions with North Korea (North Korea) escalate.

Military sources in South Korea explained on Monday (11/1/2021), the South Korean and United States Air Forces were deployed to take part in small-scale war games.

“This exercise was held after North Korea fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile in mid-October,” a military official in Seoul said.

The drill, previously called Vigilant Ace, began without an official announcement and appears to be unnamed.

South Korea’s Yonhap news agency quoted an official as saying the five-day exercise would mobilize around 100 aircraft from both sides, including F-15K and KF-16 jets from South Korea, and F-16s from the US.

Yonhap sources said no US military assets would be deployed from the mainland this time.
