UPDATE FIFA ranking ASEAN teams until Monday, September 26, 2022 will be discussed in this article. Compared to other Southeast Asian teams, Indonesian national has undergone the most drastic increase in position in the FIFA rankings.
The Indonesian national team under the care of Shin Tae-yong has increased three places from the 156 to 153 scale. The increase in that position was achieved by the Indonesian national team after winning 3-2 over Curacao on Saturday 24 September 2022 evening WIB.
Thanks to this victory, the Indonesian national team got an additional 7.41 points. As a result, the Indonesian national team currently scores 1,026.60 points and ranks 153rd in the world.
The Indonesian national team can still improve its position, or climb to the 152nd world scale. This will happen if the Indonesian national team wins Curaçao for the second time on Tuesday 27 September 2022 during the WIB night.
So what about the other Southeast Asian teams? Vietnam climbed one position to 96th place in the world. Park Hang-seo’s side earned 3.05 points after a 4-0 win over Singapore on Wednesday 21 September 2022.
Vietnam can add points to its coffers, considering that on Tuesday 27 September 2022 Nguyen Van Quyet and his friends will be challenged by India. Then there is Thailand in the 111th position in the world.
Despite scoring another 4.23 points, Thailand are stuck in position 111. After playing 1-1 with Malaysia on Thursday 22 September 2022, the War Elephant team won 2-1 over Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday 25 September 2022 WIB evening.
Then there are the Philippines in position 133 in the world. The Philippines moved up one place despite not having played a match on FIFA match day in September 2022. The reason is because Latvia, which is above the Philippines, has fallen by five places.
Then there is Malaysia which rises one step to number 148 in the world. Malaysia moved up one place after winning on penalties over Thailand and losing on penalties to Tajikistan.
Rounding out the top five Southeast Asian teams Indonesian national. Garuda’s team are now ranked 153rd in the world and still have the potential to improve their position on FIFA matchday in September 2022.
