Exactly one week ago, the health advisor of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alejandro Vázquez, announced that the entire community would start the vaccination campaign this Monday, September 26th. Be united this time and add the fourth dose against the coronavirus to the traditional flu vaccine.

In the province of Salamanca, almost 46,000 people will receive this fourth dose located in the age group from 60 to 80 years, including both, who have already completed the vaccination program of the first three doses or are missing the last. This dose will also be administered in residences and assistance centers with chronic patients and people with disabilities, as well as to operators of health and social health centers.

As for the flu shot, Salamanca is expected to administer 110,600 doses. Similarly, on October 17, the Ministry of Health plans to generalize the campaign against the flu.

It should be remembered that there are currently almost 800,000 people who have not yet received a second dose of the booster against Covid with Pfizer and Moderna.

Finally, the Ministry decided that this vaccination campaign does not take place in mass vaccination centers. It is only considered to enable spaces which will not be as large as in the previous calls. Among other things, because these cultural and sports spaces have already resumed their activity, after the end of the restrictions. Therefore, the ways to request a preventive appointment to be vaccinated are, once again, the telephone or face-to-face request through the reference health center; the application ‘Sacil Connect’; and through the Salud Castilla y León website
