Update lets Nintendo Switch share screenshots to phone or via USB – Gaming – News

Nintendo has released an update to let users share screenshots with a smartphone via QR codes or via a PC with USB. Until now, users could only post screenshots directly to Twitter, for example.

After the update there is a ‘Send To Smartphone’ option with screenshots, after which the Switch shows a QR code that can be scanned with a telephone. The QR code points the phone to a direct Wi-Fi connection to the Switch to transfer the screenshots. Users can also manually enter the SSID and passwords fill it in. Users can send up to ten screenshots at once.

In addition, there is an option to copy screenshots via USB. That option is under settings. There is also an option to automatically download backed up data, if there is already a ‘save game’ for that game. That does require a Nintendo Online account. The new features are in version 11.0.0 of the Switch software. Nintendo has one changelog put online.
