Upcoming Blood Collection Events in Inland Municipalities: Donating the Gift of Life

The Regional Hemotherapy Center will carry out two blood collections in inland municipalities during the week.

The mobile will be tomorrow, Wednesday the 20th, in the main square of El Carril from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. While on Thursday the 21st, there will be a stand at the former House of Culture in the town of General Güemes from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

You can donate blood:

People between 16 and 65 years of age, with a body weight greater than 50 kilos

No history of heart, lung, liver, chagas disease, oncological, infectious or other potentially risky or harmful disease for the recipient

They cannot be donors

Pregnant or breastfeeding women

Those who have undergone surgery, endoscopy or colonoscopy in the last 6 months

Those who have had a piercing or tattoos during the last 6 months.

Other data

Those who have received the flu vaccine and present symptoms such as fever, body aches, etc., will be able to donate blood after 72 hours of receiving the vaccine.

Those who have received antibiotic medication must wait 7 days from the last dose to donate

A person can donate blood with a minimum interval of two months

Spontaneous donation

People who wish to donate blood spontaneously can do so at Bolívar 687 (Salta), from Monday to Friday on business days, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays, from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m.

At the collection, CUCAI Salta staff will inform attendees about the benefits of bone marrow transplant and the importance of registering as a volunteer for an eventual donation.

Likewise, it will register potential donors, who will be incorporated into the national registry. These people must donate a unit of blood, from which a fraction is extracted and analyzed to obtain genetic data. These data are of utmost importance in determining compatibility with a potential recipient.
