NEW YORK — The winter season is just around the corner and New York City has now opened registration for those interested in working snow and ice removal during the 2023-2024 season, the Department of Sanitation announced of New York City.
The responsibilities of emergency snow shovels are to remove snow and ice from bus stops, crosswalks, fire hydrants, and pedestrian streets after heavy snowfall. Snow shovelers earn $18 per hour to start and $27 per hour after working 40 hours in a week.
Which are the requirements
Snow shovelers must be at least 18 years old, qualified to work in the United States, and able to perform heavy physical labor.
What documents do I need to apply for the job?
All applicants must bring the following items at the time of registration:
- Two small photographs (1 ½ square)
- Original and copy of two forms of identification.
- Social Security Card
