He then unveiled a large statue of a robotic bull with laser eyes. This one bitcoin bull is of course a reference to the famous bronze statue on Wall Street.

“The Miami Bull is a physical representation of our city’s commitment to strengthen our position in the global financial market, particularly in the development and adoption of cryptocurrencies.”

According to Suarez. More than 30,000 visitors are expected to attend the event in the coming days, including many well-known figures from the crypto industry. Michael Saylor, Anthony Pompliano, Mike Novogratz, Nick Szabo, Adam Back, Jack Mallers, Cathie Wood, Cynthia Lummis, Peter Thiel just to name a few. Some of them even hint at big announcements.

President El Salvador cancels

However, Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, has canceled. At last year’s event, Bukele announced his plan to make El Salvador the first country in the world to adopt a bitcoin law.

In the letter, however, he states that he has to cancel due to “unforeseen circumstances.” He is reportedly currently battling gang crime and thousands of gang members have been arrested in the past few days alone.

Bukele hints in the letter that he wanted to make another big announcement. However, it remains unclear what that would be. It is speculated that it is possible with the so-called bitcoin ‘volcano bondsor volcano bonds.

The event will conclude with a concert on the last day, April 9. The ‘Sound Money Fest’ features artists such as DeadMau5, Steve Aoki, Logic, Run The Jewels, San Holo, and more. There is also a comedy show with Hannibal Buress.

Despite all the hype of the event, it was not a big party for the bitcoin price, which has plummeted in the past 24 hours.
