Unveiling Celebrity Wax Figures: When Art Doesn’t Match the Reality

It’s a great honor for a celebrity to have their own wax figure, but sometimes the artwork doesn’t live up to expectations.

Long before Dwayne JohnsonThe Parisian wax statue hit the headlines in 2023, Kim Kardashian received her first statue from Madame Tussauds in 2010. The reality TV star attended the unveiling and posed next to her counterpart.

“It’s strange! It’s like she’s prettier than me. It’s so weird, like my arms and my hands… everything is so exact that it’s weird to see yourself,” she told MTV News at the time. “So now I can really see from an outsider’s point of view. It’s strange.”

While Kardashian was apparently happy with her figure, mom Kris Jenner noted that it was not an exact replica of his daughter.

“The butt could be a little bigger,” Jenner joked to her daughter during an interview with Access Hollywood during the first unveiling. “Your butt is bigger than that!”
