Unveiling Anjou’s Hidden History: Exploring the Women and Men Who Shaped the Region from the Middle Ages to the Present

Who are the women and men who made Anjou, from the Middle Ages to the present day? This is the new exhibition offered by the Departmental Archives from December 4 and March 22.

Starting next month, a new exhibition can be discovered at the Departmental Archives. It features 48 men and women, famous or lesser known to the general public, around five themes: getting involved, working, exploring, directing and creating. The 49th portrait is that of the territory – Anjou, then Maine-et-Loire – which unites them. The documents presented, from funds of departmental, municipal archives or private collections, make it possible to “give substance” to these lives and make their history better known.

Practical information : From December 4, 2023 to March 22, 2024 at the Departmental Archives, 106, rue de Frémur in Angers – Free and free entry – Find out more
