Unoccupied Property Collapses in Ras al-Tin, Alexandria – No Injuries or Losses

An old, 4-storey, unoccupied property collapsed in the Ras al-Tin area of ​​the Gomrok district in Alexandria, today, Wednesday, without injuries or losses to neighboring properties.

The Customs District Operations Room received a report stating that parts of Property No. 14, Abdel Wahab Lane, next to the Al-Qabbaniyah Mosque in the Ras Al-Tin area, had fallen, and district officials moved to the site of the report.

The inspection revealed that the property consisted of a ground floor and 4 floors, devoid of residents, and had completely collapsed to the surface of the ground, without causing any injuries or losses to neighboring properties.

Noha Khalifa, head of the Customs District in Alexandria, explained that the property was subject to a complete demolition decision up to the surface of the ground, noting that parts of the property collapsed yesterday, and today it collapsed completely.

Citizens shared a video clip on Facebook of the moment the entire property collapsed and turned into a pile of dirt, amid screams and panic from the neighbors.

The necessary report was prepared by the Customs Police Department administration, and it is being presented to the Public Prosecution for investigation.
