UNIVida raised Bs 6.65 million in five days from the sale of 79,690 rosettes of SOAT 2021 – La Razón

76.06% was acquired by private motor vehicle drivers and 23.94% by owners of public vehicles.

The state-owned UNIVida raised a total of Bs 6.65 million after marketing 79,690 rosettes of the Mandatory Traffic Accident Insurance (SOAT) 2021 during the first five days of the insurance sale, according to data from the state insurer.

The chairman of the UNIVida board of directors, Gonzalo Araoz, reported this Monday that the acquisition of SOAT 2021 can be done through 3,000 points that are distributed in different parts of the country. Among the main ones are the banking entities that provide the insurance, the pharmacy networks, and the virtual platforms of the insurer.

Until Sunday, the commercialization was carried out through the website with 4,693 sales, the Mobile Application 1,717, WhatsApp 424 and Facebook Messenger 94. While in fixed points, 29,702 were sold, 23,301 financial entities, 14,324 offices and 5,435 authorized stores.

76.06% of the 79,690 SOATs purchased were by private motor vehicle drivers and 23.94% by public transport. To date, the type of motor vehicle with the most purchases were wagons with 37%, followed by cars with 24.92% and motorcycles in third place with 11.26%.

In the central axis, the sales behavior is: Santa Cruz 31,531, Cochabamba 19,203 and La Paz 17,691, of which 2.84% correspond to new sales (new automobiles) and 97.16% to renewals.

Araoz reported that the request for cancellation of SOAT 2021 by the drivers is absolutely unfeasible, considering the costs and expenses that insurance coverage entails for that institution at the national level.

“From January 2020 to March 2021 for 15 months there have been 17,000 accidents in the country, 21,000 people injured, in that period an amount of approximately 13 million dollars has been spent to cover these accidents (…) this company does not you can cover claims if you don’t get paid, “said Araoz at a press conference.

He added that the SOAT 2020 is valid until April 30 and this year’s insurance, from May 1 to December 31.

In addition, he said that from May 1, UNIVida jointly the Police will carry out controls at different points to verify that all vehicles have the SOAT 2021.

UNIVida plans to reach 80% coverage of SOAT 2021, that is, 1.6 million vehicles. Araoz said that, according to the Single Registry for the Tax Administration (RUAT) there are about 2.01 million motorized vehicles in the country. (04/12/2021)
