Orono, ME – The America East Conference announced on Monday afternoon that University of Maine midfielder, Victoria Dungey was named the Conference Rookie of the Week following her performance against NJIT.
Dungey, a first year player from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, netted her first collegiate goal in the 2-0 shutout victory over NJIT. Her first goal of her career came off of a great feed by Julie Lossius, which Dungey promptly one-timed into the back right corner of the net.
Maine (8-0-4, 3-0-1 AE) remains one of just eight undefeated teams in the NCAA and cracked into the Top-100 (94th) in terms of RPI following their latest victory over NJIT.
Maine is back in action on Thursday, Oct. 12 as they travel to UMass Lowell. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 P.M.
