University of Magdalena Announces Four New Postgraduate Programs for Professionals in 2024

Four new programs are part of this offer made available to professionals in the Region and the country starting in 2024.

The commitment of the University of Magdalena through the Center for Postgraduate and Continuing Training with higher education is reflected in the quality of the different academic programs, designed to promote the training of leaders and experts in various disciplines.

For this reason, it recently launched the new postgraduate offer aimed at professionals in the Region and the country who wish to train with high-quality education, positively impacting the territory and carrying the UNIMAGDALENA seal around the world.

Through a discussion in which the Rector of the Alma Mater, Dr. Pablo Vera Salazar, participated and moderated by the director of the Center, the engineer Marla Maestre Meyer, the four new academic programs were presented, whose portfolio was expanded by the directors of these .

Two master’s degrees: Nursing and Second Language Teaching and two specializations: Sports Training and Fiscal Control Management; The latter, with availability expected for the first quarter of 2024, are added to the offer that, in seven years, went from 6 to 54 academic units.

“It is a significant growth, but most importantly: we have adopted a flexible educational model that allows the validation of pre-knowledge and competencies, so that undergraduate students can take credits from specializations or master’s degrees to obtain simultaneous degrees,” explained the Rector.

Likewise, the Graduate Center has been working on different cost strategies to make access to advanced training more affordable, especially for our graduates.

“This makes us a differential institution in terms of costs that are significantly lower. In the case of our graduates, in addition to the 10% discount for electoral certificates, also a 10% discount as graduates of this University,” said Vera.

Job profiles in favor of the territory

Graduates of the Master’s Degree in Nursing will be professionals with scientific and disciplinary training, competent to apply research results in the care of the person, family and community.

Likewise, they will have the ability to participate in interdisciplinary teams that promote innovations in the provision of services, in the formulation and design of public policies.

For its part, the Master’s Degree in Second Language Teaching in virtual mode is the only program of this type offered at an accredited public university in the Caribbean region and, as it is taught completely in English, it allows delving into other lines related to interculturality, translation and ICT.

On the other hand, meeting the interests that the context demands in training, methodology, sports planning, physical-athletic preparation of athletes, management in municipal, departmental and/or national entities is the focus of the Specialization in Sports Training.
