Through its official channels on social networks, the night of August 11 several universities, most of them located in Quito, informed the public that temporarily suspend the vaccination of the second dose against COVID-19. The dates are different in each institution.

Along the same lines, University of the Americas (UDLA) reported that, “by instruction” of the Ministry the vaccination point will not be enabled between August 12 and 15.

The Central University of Ecuador (UCE) He also reported the suspension of the application of the second dose, but did not explain how long the stoppage will last. However, the institution clarified that the inoculation to the students of the health faculties that were programmed in the university coliseum is maintained normally.

With a broader explanation, the UTE University stated that the dates will be rescheduled at its parent campus in Quito, by order of the Ministry, “considering the new delivery schedules of vaccines by the provider.”
