At least eight people were killed and several others injured in a panic on Friday night at the Astroworld music festival in Houston, in the southern United States, authorities reported.
“The crowd started to rush to the front of the stage. It created a start of panic which resulted in injuries,” said Houston Fire Chief Samuel Pena.
“We have at least eight confirmed deaths tonight and several injured,” he said, adding that 17 people had been taken to hospital, including 11 victims of cardiac arrest.
