United Anti-Fascist Front says it “did everything” to add the left – News

In response to these accusations, the FUA said today that “a plea of personal accusations, slander, lies and manipulation have been launched into the public square, which are totally unfounded and still reflect a certain moral degeneration of some leaders of the left in the face of decay. of capitalist society ”.

The United Anti-Fascist Front “addressed the invitation to co-organize concentrations to dozens of organizations, including a large part of those that subscribed to the divisive note, who expressed their opinion and pressured the demonstrations not to take place”.

“We respect your opinion [dos coletivos], but we do not agree, because we believe that silence is complicit and the lessening of the struggle in the public space in relation to the parliamentary policy agenda is detrimental to the anti-racist and anti-fascist fight, as well as the systematic attempt to silence ”the FUA activists, continues the clarification.

In the last week, three deputies and seven activists were threatened by a self-proclaimed “New Order of Avis – National Resistance”, which also demanded action with the SOS Racism association.

On Thursday, the Public Prosecutor’s Office opened a criminal inquiry, the day after SOS Racism leader Mamadou Ba made statements to the Judiciary Police and confirmed the receipt, together with nine other people, of an email message to stipulate a period of 48 hours to leave the country.

This Sunday two demonstrations called by the FUA took place at Largo Camões, in Lisbon, and at Aliados, in Porto.

In Lisbon, hundreds of people demonstrated against fascism, racism and for freedom and civic rights, in a protest that those who were there said it was necessary because of the growing ease with which the extreme right feels to commit crimes.

In Porto, there were about three hundred people who participated in a concentration against “attempts at intimidation” to three deputies and seven anti-fascist and anti-racist activists.

Among the demonstrators concentrated in Porto was Luís Lisboa, coordinator of the Guimarães branch of the FUA, one of the first activists to formalize a criminal complaint for the threats he received and said he was already under police protection.
