Understanding and Treating Hip Pain: Osteoarthritis and Endoprosthesis

Hip pain is typically felt in the groin area, but can often radiate to the buttocks or lateral thighs up to the knee joint. They occur after physical exertion or at rest and are often associated with increasing restriction of movement.

This is usually caused by signs of wear and tear on the joint. They occur either as isolated damage to the cartilage covering the bones within the joint, as is usually the case in younger patients, or, with increasing age, as extensive, flat cartilage damage, i.e. arthrosis.

Treatment methods on the hip joint:

Osteoarthritis/ artificial hip joint (endoprosthesis)

Painful artificial joint / prosthesis change
