The amateur championships have come to a halt since last Wednesday and the announcement of the reconfinement by the President of the Republic. A stoppage that will last for many more weeks and that could well redistribute the cards once football returns to the N2 and N3 divisions. Because today’s fit teams may not be tomorrow’s and everyone will have a lot to play as soon as they return from competition. But before this comeback, let’s take a look at Group D of National 2, while almost a third of the championship has been disputed.
Béziers in great shape, Bourges 18 and Mont de Marsan worrying
At the top of the table, Béziers has made a superb start to the season. Indeed, Didier Santini’s men are still unbeaten after 9 games, with 6 wins and 3 draws and above all 21 points in total. A superb start which allows the ASB to have four units ahead of its runner-up, Trélissac. Second with 17 points, the TFC is also undefeated and is just as solid as Béziers, with a few fewer wins, however. In third place, we find Colomiers who has 16 points and only one loss. We can therefore see a very solid podium in this group D. Then come the pursuers on the podium with Romorantin and Les Herbiers, fourth and fifth and who currently have 14 points. Le Puy, 6th and Angers B, 7th, are 13 points behind while Moulins Yzeure and Bourges Foot are 8th and 9th with 11 points.
We then arrive at the bottom of the table with a tenth place for Nantes B, which has 10 points in its bag. Bergerac, eleventh, also has this total of points but is ahead on goal difference. The Canet RFC and Chamalières bring up the rear for the non-relegation clubs with 10 points each. Then comes the first relegation which is Angoulême and which has only 6 points. Even more worrying, Bourges 18, penultimate with only 3 points. Finally, the red lantern and which worries a lot since the beginning of this 2020-2021 exercise is Mont de Marsan with two small units and above all already seven defeats. We will absolutely have to show another face to the resumption of the championships on pain of permanently sinking.
