Freddy Sambo he was hit by the judge as he could not hold back his emotions so that finally he had to lose his position of Kadiv Propam Polri. The judge regretted it because the position held by Ferdy Sambo at that time was already quite good.
This sentiment occurred when Sambo testified for the defendant, former Chief of Sub-Unit I, Sub-Directorate III Dittipidum Bareskrim Polri AKP Irfan Widyanto, during a trial to obstruct the investigation into the murder of Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat at the South Jakarta District Court , Friday (16/12/2022). At first, Sambo admitted that he ordered former Deputy Head of Public Relations Bureau, Propam Polri AKBP Arif Rahman Arifin, to erase and destroy CCTV footage showing Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat still alive.
“Then after she saw the CCTV footage on Baiquni’s laptop, what did you do?” asked presiding judge Afrizal Hadi.
“During the study,” Sambo answered.
“Yes, did you call Arifin?” the judge asked.
“Arif Rachman, I said ‘Where is the recording stored?’ ‘On the laptop and on the flash disk’ ‘Yes, you erased and destroyed it,'” Sambo said in imitation of the conversation with Arif.
“So you found out later that your order was to destroy the files? Did you ask if what you ordered was actually done? Did you ask again?” the judge asked.
Sambo also admitted that he was confident that his men would immediately do his bidding at the time. So Sambo didn’t ask again.
“I won’t ask again, because I’m sure they will, Your Majesty,” Sambo replied.
Hakim Afrizal then hinted at the position of Sambo as Kadiv Propam Polri at that time. The judge said the Sambo position was quite good. But unfortunately all was lost because Sambo could not hold back his emotions.
“You’re in a pretty good position, but it’s a shame you can’t hold back your emotions,” the judge said.
“I apologize, Your Majesty,” Sambo replied.
“You say you damaged the family’s honor and dignity,” the judge said.
“I apologize, Your Majesty,” Sambo replied.
Not only that, the judge also asked why Sambo didn’t report Yosua who allegedly sexually abused his wife. Although Sambo at that time was the police of the police.
Initially, Sambo explained at length about the shooting of Brigadier Yosua, which was motivated by allegations of harassment. Sambo stated that Yosua had committed the charge of rape and abuse of his wife.
