“Unable”. Republican security experts write devastating letter about Donald Trump – The Economic Journal

More than 70 Republicans who, at some point in their activities, held positions in the area of national security in the US governments said, in a letter released this Friday, that President Donald Trump “lacks character and the competence to lead” the nation .

“We are deeply concerned about the direction of the nation under the leadership of Donald Trump,” write the signatories to the letter, including former Central Intelligence Agency director Michael Hayden, former Intelligence director John Negroponte and former Secretary Defense Chuck Hagel.

“Trump has demonstrated that he lacks the character and competence to lead this nation and has incurred corrupt behaviors that make him unfit to serve as president,” continues the letter.

Former employees who signed the letter, including former FBI director William Webster, held national security positions in the presidencies of Ronald Reagan, George HW Bush, George W. Bush and also Trump.

The text states that Trump “seriously undermined the role of the United States as a world leader”, “sought foreign influence and undermined confidence in our presidential elections”, “aligned with dictators”, and “insulted our armed forces, security agencies and intelligence and diplomats ”.

Demolishing, the letter further states that Trump “undermined the rule of law”, “dishonored the presidency”, “divided the nation”, “attacked and vilified immigrants”, and “jeopardized the security of the United States” by disturbing the functioning of national security agencies.

For all these reasons, they concluded, “we firmly believe that it is in our nation’s interest that (former) Vice President Joe Biden is elected as the next President of the United States, so we will vote for him.”

During the Democratic National Convention, which ended this Thursday after Biden’s official presentation of the November 3 election, other prominent Republican figures declared their support for Biden’s candidacy, including former Ohio Governor John Kasich. In June, former Secretary of State Colin Powell said he would vote for the Democratic candidate this year because Trump “lies”.

Right now, all polls give Biden an advantage of about 10 percentage points over Trump.
